was found lying unconscious on a maryland bike path around 11:30 this morning. officials say he went into cardiac arrest and hit his head on a tree as he fell. emergency officials say it's important to recognize signs of heat-related illnesses when we're stuck in the middle of this kind of heat wave. heat stroke symptoms can include dry red skin, convulsions, delerium. it can come on quickly. one minute you're fine and the next very ill. >> maintain your hydration, and if you don't feel well, it could be a heat-related issue so get into a cool area and make certain you have plenty of water. >> reporter: again, the other thing you need to know is that a milder form of heat stroke is what they call heat exhaustion. those symptoms include extreme weakness, muscle cramps, headaches, and lots of times, victims will throw up or faint. once again, the solution, drink a lot of water and stay in a cool area. back to you guys. >> jen, thank you for that. of course we want to give you a few more tips on how to keep cool. they sound familiar but they can save lives. try to stay in the air condit
